The unclassified portion of the December 2020 meeting will be held at the Newport News Marriott at City Center in Newport News, Virginia. The hotel will serve as the location of all sleeping rooms for JANNAF attendees, as well. Newport News City Center is a mixed-use development with restaurants, shops and entertainment establishments all within walking distance of the hotel, and just a short 15 minute ride from the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport. The Newport News Marriott at City Center does not offer airport shuttle service.
Ground transportation costs range from approximately $17 for a taxi from the Newport News/Williamsburg airport to over $100 for a taxi or shuttle from the Richmond airport. More information can be found on the airports’ websites. If attending classified sessions at NASA Langley Research Center, attendees will need to drive; carpooling with other attendees is strongly encouraged due to limited parking.
Amtrak has a station in Newport News, just five miles / 15 minutes from the Newport News Marriott at City Center. A taxi between the train station and the hotel will cost approximately $16.

JANNAF has negotiated a special discounted room rate with the Newport News Marriott at City Center of $96 per night plus tax (currently 14%) and a $1 lodging fee per day. A limited number of sleeping rooms have been arranged at these discounted rates.
The JANNAF discounted room block will open for reservations in mid-Sepetember. Each individual is responsible for his/her own reservation. Your patronage of the official meeting hotel makes it possible for JANNAF to secure the space necessary for this event at a greatly reduced cost. The hotel not only offers discounted rates and the best networking opportunities, but staying in the group block helps JANNAF meet its obligation to the hotel, avoid penalties, and keep meeting registration prices down. Newport News is located in the Tidewater region of Virginia. In addition to being near NASA Langley Research Center, other nearby points of interest include the waterfront city of Norfolk, historic Williamsburg, and Virginia Beach. The area is rich with historical points of interest such as Jamestown and Yorktown (in addition to Williamsburg), a variety of museums including the Virginia Air and Space Center and the U.S. Army Transportation Museum, and so much more.
In addition to the City Center restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, Styron Square in Port Warwick is just a six minute drive from the hotel and offers more options for those with a car. There are even more choices, ranging from fast food to fine dining, within a 10 minute drive of the hotel.
